Chalupas 1 pounds of ground beef, crumbled 1 / 2 med. size onion, chopped 1 c. soup. 1 tsp Tea chili powder. ground cumin Salt and pepper to taste 1 (No. 300) may pinto beans 12 corn tortillas 3 c. frozen soup. shortening shredded lettuce 3 / 4 lb. mild cheddar cheese, grated 3 tomatoes, cut into sm. Parts Bottled taco sauce Heat lightly greased large skillet. Add ground beef and onion. Cook until ground beef is golden. Drain fat and add the chili powder, cumin, salt and pepper to meat mixture and mix well. Mix the beans and their liquid. Cover and cook the mixture to simmering point for about 30 minutes. Heat shortening in skillet and fry tortillas lightly on both sides. Drain on paper absorbent and battery. Keep warm in the oven moderately hot. Chalupas To assemble, place 2 or 3 tablespoons of meat mixture on each tortilla. Sprinkle grated cheese over meat, then arrange the lettuce and tomatoes grated on top. Serve with taco sauce In a separate bowl. Yield: Serves 4 to 3 per serving chalupas.
