Recipes Green Beans Tomatoes

Want to add something new and different at your table? Give these recipes vegetable to try. They use simple ingredients inexpensive to provide vegetables every day a little extra zing. They are quick and easy recipes but can make a big difference to your meal. Brussels Sprouts with lemon and garlic gives Brussels sprouts taste dramatically different with the addition of lemon and garlic. Green beans and tomatoes combine two of our favorite vegetables with some spices and make a new taste to your table.

BURSSEL SPROUTS with lemon and garlic

1 lb fresh Brussels sprouts, cleaned and chopped quartered

1 small onion, finely chopped

3 c. unsalted butter

2 cloves garlic, minced

3 c. to tablespoon lemon juice

1 tsp tea lemon zest

1 / 2 c. tea salt, optional

1 / 4 c. Tea pepper black

1 / 4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

In a skillet, sauté the cabbage and onion in butter for 5 minutes. Add juice, garlic and lemon rind salt and pepper. Stir for 1 minute. Reduce heat to medium and cook, stirring, for 5 to 6 minutes until that the cabbage is tender. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Note: This recipe is perfect for diabetics since it has almost 1 / 2 as many proteins as carbohydrates.

GREEN BEANS AND TOMATOES

1 pounds green beans, cut into pieces about 1 inch

1 / 2 cup green bell pepper chopped

1 / 4 cup chopped onion

1 tsp tablespoons olive oil

2 med tomatoes, chopped

1 / 2 teaspoon salt

1 / 2 c. Basil Tea

1 / 4 c. Rosemary Tea

1 / 8 c. Tea pepper

In a medium to large saucepan, cook beans in lightly salted boiling water until tender. This should take about 20 minutes. Drain well. While beans are cooking, sauté onion and bell pepper in oil until tender but not browned. Embed tomatoes, salt, basil, rosemary, pepper, and green beans. Bake until heated through.

Yield: 8 servings
